The first developer of the Pinery was Terracor, a Utah-based company, with development beginning in 1971. Because of the inability of Terracor to sell sufficient lots as a result of the real estate downturn at the time, the developer was forced to declare bankruptcy in 1982. 1971 - Development by Terracor begins. 1973 - Donald and Ann Andersen move into the area that will become the Pinery. late 1981 - The Pinery Metropolitan District is formed. 1982 - Terracor declares bankruptcy. 1982-1983 - Senior Corp. takes over the Pinery and sells enough lots to recoup their $141 Million buying price in 18 months.
